German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she will consider reuniting refugee families with limited protection status – “secondary protection” – early next year.
Russia’s Channel on Monday quoted Merkel as saying she had no intention of making any decision on the issue of reunification for refugees this year, and that the priority now was for the holders of “full protection” status.
She pointed out that the person who has the status of full protection can now bring his parents and children and we must apply it first.
Earlier, the German government, in order to avoid overloading the municipalities again in the care of refugees, has announced a family reunion for two years.
Representatives of the Bavarian Christian Social Party have proposed to continue the ban on reunification for the families of this group beyond March 18, 2018 except for relatives of Syrian refugees who are still in Syria
