Brazil’s federal police have carried out a raid and search of the home of Agriculture Minister Bliro Magee in Brasilia in connection with a rasha scandal and illegal gain, an informed source said on Thursday.
The source said the raid was linked to the testimony of Silvar Barbosa, governor of the former state of Mato Gracao, as part of an agreement with the authorities, which accuses Magee of involvement in corruption between 2007 and 2010. Magee, a former governor of Mato Grosso’s state, is also in the process of investigating corruption allegations.
Mato Grosso is a major producer of soybeans and cereals.
Attempts to contact media representatives about Magee in Brasilia have not been successful.
