World News: New Zealand PM’s accomplice Clarke Gayford fights off shark with a pole after dolphin didn’t assist

THE accomplice of New Zealand’s PM has revealed he fought off shark with a pole – after a close-by dolphin failed to come back to his rescue.

Clarke Gayford, who presents a TV fishing present, shared a snap on Twitter of himself keeping off the “agitated” fish.

However he identified that they weren’t the one ones within the photograph – with the faint define of a dolphin seen swimming previous within the background.

Posting the pic, he joked: “So it seems that not solely do dolphins not assist, they really fairly like watching.

“A childhood delusion is ruined.”

The broadcaster, 40 – who has been courting Kiwi chief Jacinda Ardern, 37, since 2013 – was filming off Nice Barrier Island close to Auckland when the snap was taken.
